Accounts Payable and Purchasing Clerk

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform full A/P functions including matching purchase order, receiving documents, coding invoices and payment processing

  • Assist in month end close duties including account reconciliations for prepaid accounts and A/P aging report, prepare accruals, input journal entries and bank transactions.

  • Reconcile monthly credit card statement

  • Update accounting schedules to track patent, outside research and development costs

  • Reconcile invoice items, prices and receiving signatures

  • Maintain vendor files

  • Responsible for the petty cash box including replenishing and reconciling disbursements

  • Verify and prepare report for Form 1099-MISC annual filings to IRS and distribution of of Form 1099-MISC to recipients

  • Purchasing responsibilities to include but not limited to:

    • Create Purchase Orders

    • Obtain authorization signatures

    • Place orders

    • Order follow up

    • Vendor management

Requirements:

  • Attention to detail, strong organization skills and an appropriate sense of urgency and accountability

  • Strong computer skills – Microsoft Excel & Outlook

  • Project management/time management skills

  • Basic accounts payable knowledge, as well as solid analytical, research and resolution skills

  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

Biochemist Position in San Diego

Inception Sciences has an exciting opportunity for a biochemist or enzymologist to join our existing drug discovery team in San Diego. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and execution of target validation plans, establishing biochemical and cellular assays and guiding research and drug discovery projects.  The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary drug discovery team of experienced chemists, biologists and DMPK scientists.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. with a minimum of 6-10 years’ experience in biochemistry or enzymology

  • Experience as an independent research scientist in an academic or pharmaceutical/ biotech environment

  • Use biochemical techniques to identify and profile drug candidates and investigate their mechanism of action. Experience with high throughput assays is an asset.

  • Experience overseeing research associates on studies across multiple drug discovery programs

  • A strong team player who enjoys scientific discovery and has the ability to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary environment

  • A strong desire to learn and to continue to stay close to the science

  • The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge in the areas of immunology or immune oncology

In Vitro Associate Scientist or Research Associate Position in San Diego

Inception Sciences is seeking a dynamic scientist to work as part of a project team to identify lead compounds and advance programs towards clinical development in the context of oncology and auto-immune diseases. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and execution of biochemical and cellular assays and actively participating in drug discovery projects. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree with over 5 years’ experience in developing in vitro assays in biotech or pharmaceutical environment.

  • In depth knowledge of, and hands-on experience with cell based assay development

    • Including but not limited to; in vitro reporter assay, cell imaging, enzymatic assays, RT-PCR, flow cytometry.

  • Evaluate drug candidates in biochemical, enzymatic, cell-based assays.

  • Participate in multidisciplinary team efforts through leading specific parts of the project.

  • Present regular research updates to project teams. 

  • Strong understanding of drug development.

  • Experience supporting the development of small molecules, biologics and/or other therapies.

Inception Sciences Canada is currently seeking an Associate Pharmacologist to join our existing drug discovery team at our laboratories situated on Great Northern Way in Vancouver.  The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting in vivo models and performing pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic studies in rodents.  The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary drug discovery team of chemists, biologists and DMPK scientists.

Requirements:

  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in rodent in vivo pharmacology

  • Hands-on experience and demonstrated abilities to successfully conduct in vivo pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic and drug efficacy studies

  • A strong team player who enjoys scientific discovery and has the ability to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary environment

  • Strong hands-on knowledge of all facets of rodent handling and colony maintenance (e.g. body weight measurement, food/water intake, urine collection, etc)

  • Proficient in all routes of drug administration in rodents (p.o., i.v., s.c, i.p., infusion, minipump) and blood sampling

  • Ability to perform necropsies and surgical procedures is an advantage

  • Extensive hands-on experience and demonstrated abilities to design and perform in vivo pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic and drug efficacy studies

  • Experience overseeing a small group of research associates on studies across multiple drug discovery programs

  • A strong team player who enjoys scientific discovery and has the ability to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary environment

  • A strong desire to continue to stay close to the science and to perform hands-on work

  • The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge in the areas of renal pharmacology and small molecule therapeutics.  Knowledge of drug targets in the renal space would be an asset.  

  • Experience in all aspects of working with animal care committees

  • Prior experience in drug development in Pharma or Biotech industry is an asset
