Administration/AP/Purchasing Assistant

Administration Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain basic administrative systems areas-copy/office supply room and kitchen
  • Prepare and coordinate shipping using on-line shipping process
  • Calendar company meetings/events and order meals
  • Coordinate facility maintenance-key cards and arrange necessary repairs
  • Manage reception area-greet visitors and vendors
  • Pick up/sort/distribute mail
  • Manage lab notebook issuing and electronic capture

A/P and Purchasing Responsibilities include:

  • Order office, kitchen and lab supplies
  • Match PO to packing slips and assist in AP coding
  • Make copies for inter-entities payments and AP filing
  • Reconcile vendor statements; research and correct discrepancies
  • Respond to vendor inquiries
  • Maintain accurate files and documentation in accordance with company policy
  • Company credit card bill reconciliation
  • Additional projects as needed

Requirements:

  • Attention to detail, strong organization skills and a high sense of urgency and accountability
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite Mandatory
  • Strong project management/time management skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and basic accounts payable knowledge, as well as solid analytical, research and resolution skills

Senior Scientist or equivalent level in San Diego

Inception Sciences in San Diego CA. is looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working and highly-motivated Research Scientist to join our world class team developing small molecule therapeutics to treat cancer, fibrosis and inflammation. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on in vivo skills with experience in rodent handling, dosing (IV, PO, SC, IM) and tissue collection. In vivo experience in immuno-oncology and/or fibrosis is preferred. Candidate should be able to design and perform in vivo pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic and drug efficacy studies and oversee a small group of research associates on studies across multiple discovery programs. Additional expertise in laboratory techniques such as sterile tissue culture, developing and maintaining cell lines and cell-based assays and in biochemical techniques including, Western Blot, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, and ELISA are also a plus.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Design and conduct in vivo studies in rodents to establish PK/PD relationships, and in vivo proof-of-concept for target validation in an immuno-oncology- and fibrosis-focused discovery environment.
  • Identify CROs or other collaborations that could enable models or apply expertise that are not available in-house.  Collaborate, monitor and report CRO based studies to discovery project teams.
  • Design and conduct in vivo studies, as well as supervise/mentor other scientists/associates in the pharmacology group. 
  • Strong laboratory notebook skills is critical.
  • Personally draft and oversee the design and implementation of IACUC protocols and participate in IACUC committee meetings. 
  • Participate on program project teams to provide expertise and knowledge from the pharmacology discipline.  Help to identify relevant models and work within team to establish work plan for in vivo PK/PD and pharmacology support. 
  • Collaborate with DMPK and Chemistry groups andimplement and oversee studies to meet project goals

Requirements:

  • PhD degree with postdoctoral or industry experience or MS degree with 6-8 years of hands-on in vivo laboratory experience in industry. Background in Oncology, Pharmacology or related disciplines is preferred.
  • Experience in handling, dosing and tissue harvesting from rodents is a requirement.
  • Hands-on experience performing in vivo studies, preferably with small molecule drug candidates, using multiple dose routes (IV, PO, SC, IM), tissue sample collection, and evaluating pharmacodynamic endpoints
  • Hands-on experience with surgical models is preferred
  • Organized, self-motivated, able to multitask and deliver results with high degree of attention to detail to drive projects forward in a timely mannerSound statistical understanding and knowledge of common statistical software

Pharmacology Position in Vancouver

Inception Sciences Canada is currently seeking a lead pharmacologist to join our existing drug discovery team at our laboratories situated on Great Northern Way in Vancouver.  The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing the new vivarium, the development and execution of in vivo models and performing pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic studies.  The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary drug discovery team of chemists, biologists and DMPK scientists.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. or M.Sc. with a minimum of five years’ experience in pharmacology with extensive hands-on experience in conducting in vivo efficacy studies, statistics and in vivo procedures, including drug administration
  • Demonstrated abilities to develop and implement new pharmacological models
  • A strong team player who enjoys scientific discovery and has the ability to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary environment
  • The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge in the areas of pharmacokinetics and immunology.  Experience in oncology is an asset

Post-doctoral fellow, Biology

Inception Sciences is currently seeking a motivated and dynamic post-doctoral fellow to join our drug discovery team. The position will be located in Paris, France, working with one of our academic collaborators at INSERM, and will be for a duration of 2 years. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with human biopsies from patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and to identify and characterize novel cellular and biochemical mechanisms involved in disease pathogenesis. The work will also involve validation of therapeutic targets and biomarker discovery. The successful candidate will be a team player with strong communication skills and leadership, a demonstrated ability to drive projects forward independently, and someone who enjoys scientific discovery as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biology, Physiology, or a related discipline.
  • Hands-on experience with primary cell/tissue systems and/or expertise in IBD.
  • Experience with immunological and molecular biology techniques.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and independence.
